Counter-Protest Stands Against Calgary Anti-LGBTQ2 Protest

Community members gather to support marginalized youth

On Friday, August 25th, a group of counter-protesters gathered in Downtown Calgary to stand against an anti-LGBTQ2 protest. The counter-protest, organized by the group Leave Our Kids Alone, was attended by hundreds of people who waved Canadian flags and signs in support of LGBTQ2 rights.

The original protest, organized by the group Leave Our Kids Alone, was held on June 16th and was attended by a small group of people who waved signs and chanted slogans against the LGBTQ2 community. The counter-protest was organized in response to the original protest, and aimed to show support for LGBTQ2 youth and their families.

The counter-protest was a peaceful event, and no arrests were made. The event was attended by people of all ages and backgrounds, and it showed that the community will not tolerate discrimination or intolerance.
