Aston Villa produced a dominant performance on Saturday afternoon, thrashing West Ham 4-1 at Villa Park in the Premier League. Douglas Luiz opened the scoring for the home side with a low drive from 20 yards out, before striking a penalty in the second half.
Second-Half Penalty Seals Victory
West Ham drew level through a Michail Antonio goal, but Villa took control of the match after the break. Philippe Coutinho restored their lead with a curling effort before Danny Ings added a third with a bullet header. Luiz then put the game beyond doubt with a coolly taken penalty.
The result sees Aston Villa move up to 11th place in the Premier League standings, while West Ham remain 15th and still in danger of relegation.
